A live performance measured in breaths,
where the audience guided by the performers, experiences various states of “breath-ing”
and perhaps even “seething”.
It seeks to reaffirm the act of breathing itself. Through the dancers’ guidance,
the audience explores how different ways of breathing engage the body,
how breath connects within,
influences without, and gradually reveals
the emotions intertwined with it—
whether gentle exhales or simmering unrest.
Premiered in spring 2023 at YongFoo Elite and YOUNG Theatre’s The Pool, “Breath-ing” is now expanding beyond spatial choreography into the realm of two-dimensional concepts and moving images, bridging screen-based and live arts. This evolution marks its transformation

Viewing Tips
(Breathe, get angry, have fun.)
1 Bring your breathing gear :
noses, mouths, anything you’ve got.
They deserve an outing too.
2 Expect to hold your breath.
Expect to gasp for air.
Maybe even leave with a whole new pair of lungs.
3 Save your anger.
You’ll need it for a deep dive with the live performers.
4 Angry face-off with the dancers?
Totally allowed. Totally encouraged.
